UFC woman’s bantamweight fighter Valentina Shevchenko and her coach Pavel Fedotov were caught up in a terrifying armed robbery at a restaurant in Peru yesterday that escalated into a deadly shootout.

CCTV footage of the incident shows three armed robbers wearing motorcycle helmets and armed with guns bursting into an eatery in the Chorrilas district of Lima, Peru last night.

The robbers would then steal a little under $1,500 from the store’s till, and turned violent by splitting open three customers heads as they took took cellphones, wallets and other valuables from those who were present at the time.

Shevchenko and Fedotov, who are from Kyrgistan, but live in Peru, walked into the restaurant in the middle of the robbery.

Fedotov, who’s married to Shevchenko’s sister, immediately drew the gun he was carrying and opened fire on the robbers, killing one as they fled the scene, but also taking a bullet to the stomach himself, which knocked him to the floor.

The 28 year-old Shevchenko, who ironically is nicknamed ‘Bullet’, had been anxiously standing at the entrance of the store then rushed in to help her wounded coach, and is seen attending to him at the end of the video.

In total 15 bullets were fired during the shootout, with two other customers also being injured in the process.

Shevchenko, who’s ranked No.9 in the UFC’s bantamweight division, is currently training to fight Holly Holm in the main event of UFC On FOX 20 on July 31st.

Prior to her 12-2 MMA career, Shevchenko was a decorated kickboxer who had won numerous titles and compiled an impressive 56-2 professional record in the sport.

Since joining the UFC late last year she’s earned a split decision win over Sarah Kaufman, but lost out by unanimous decision to the division’s next title challenger, Amanda Nunes.
