A lightweight fight between Diego Sanchez and Marcin Held will go down at UFC Fight Night 98 in Mexico City on November 5th.
Held is the UFC’s latest signing, making the hop over from rival promotion Bellator, where he’s plied his trade for the past five years.
During that period the 24 year-old Polish fighter has compiled an 11-2 record and fought his way to the final of two Bellator lightweight tournaments, winning one of them.
For his UFC debut, Held finds himself up against grizzled veteran Sanchez, who is coming off a particularly disappointing loss to Joe Lauzon at UFC 200 in July, lasting just 86 seconds before being TKO’d for only the second time in his career.
Sanchez has been many wars over the years, and with just two wins in his last six fights, the 34 year-old is now fighting to prove that he’s still got what it takes to compete at a high level.
Sanchez Vs Held joins a UFC Fight Night 98 card which will also serve as the TUF Latin America Season 3 finale, and will be headlined by another lightweight fight, Rafael dos Anjos Vs Tony Ferguson, while Kelvin Gastelum Vs Jorge Masvidal has also been confirmed for the show as well.
