Joe Rogan Hints At Conor McGregor Vs Eddie Alvarez Fight At UFC 205

Conor Mcgregor

On the latest edition of his ‘Fight Companion’ podcast, UFC color commentator Joe Rogan appeared to hint that a blockbuster superfight between featherweight champion Conor McGregor and Lightweight kingpin Eddie Alvarez may be in the works for the historic UFC 205 event in New York City on November 12th.

The topic came up when Brendan Schaub mentioned on the podcast that there were rumors McGregor and Alvarez might be the headliner for the show at Madison Square Garden.

“I know a little something I wish I could tell,” an animated Rogan replied.

“If it happens… allegedly at Madison Square Garden,” Rogan continued. “If it happens… allegedly in a couple of months. But if it does happen, Eddie’s a big boy. He can grapple. He’s a f****** grinder and whatever endurance issues Conor may have, he better iron those f****** out before you go to town with that guy.”

If it comes to fruition this would be the perfect fight to front the stacked show, which already includes a welterweight title fight between Tyron Woodley and Stephen Thompson, Chris Weidman Vs Yoel Romero, Rashad Evans Vs Tim Kennedy and Donald Cerrone Vs Kelvin Gastelum.

McGregor’s last fight at UFC 202 in August, in which he successfully avenged a prior loss to Nate Diaz, is believed to have broke the UFC’s pay-per-view record with a whopping 1.7 million buys, and with the star-studded nature of November’s card, together with the fact that it’ll make the UFC’s first ever event in New York City could propel UFC 205 to even greater heights.
