Paul Felder found himself in a hard-hitting stand-up battle with alessandro Ricci tonight at UFC Fight Night 105, but a hard elbow strike would prove to be the catalyst for a first round TKO victory.
Round One:
Double jab for Ricci and Felder connects with a left on the counter that knocks his opponent slightly off-balance.
Both men eager to exchange at close range. Exchange of leg kicks and then punches. Plenty of mustard on the two fighters strikes here.
Good right hand from Felder. Ricci’s face is already reddening up from the early strikes here. Each time one fighter engages the other matches him almost punch for punch.
Body punch for Felder as Ricci works for a knee. Uppercut for Ricci. leg kick and straight punches for Felder. leg kick for Ricci and a hard one-two in return from Felder.
Spinning attack for Ricci gets Felder’s attention. Felder wades in with more effective offense. Body kick for him and then a superman punch attempt.
Front kick to the body and a punch behind it for Ricci. He goes forward again with a jab, but Felder counters with a lead elbow that hurts his opponent and puts him on his heels.
There’s a delayed reaction from Ricci as the full effect of that elbow that likely broke his nose hits home and he suddenly slumps to the ground against the cage as Felder wades in with a knee upstairs.
Ricci has clearly had enough as a few more strikes follow and the referee steps in to end the fight, handing Felder a first round TKO finish.
