Johny Hendricks Vs Tim Boetsch Announced for UFC Fight Night 112

A middleweight fight between Johny Hendricks and Tim Boetsch has been announced for UFC Fight Night 112 in Oklahoma City on June 25th.

Hendricks was forced up to 185lbs last time out after a spell in which the former welterweight champion had continually failed to make 170lbs, while also losing three fights in a row.

The move up in weight might actually have turned out to be a blessing in disguise for Hendricks as it led to him defeating Hector Lombard by unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 105 last month, and now he’ll be hoping to further establish himself in the weight class and potentially earn a spot on the rankings by defeating ‘The Barbarian’.

Boetsch currently holds down the No.15 spot in the official UFC middleweight rankings, but a two-fight winning streak against Josh Samman and Rafael Natal was brought to a halt in his last Octagon outing when he faced one of the division’s top contenders, Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza last month at UFC 208 and suffered a first-round submission loss.

Hendricks Vs Boetsch will join a UFC Fight Night 112 card that’s also set to feature a legend who simply refuses to call it quits, BJ Penn, who will take yet another attempt at getting back to winning ways when he goes up against Dennis Siver.
