In a bizarre turn of events, Pearl Gonzalez has been forced out of her main card fight with Cynthia Calvillo at this weekend’s UFC 210 event due to the fact that she has breast implants.
The unfortunate ruling was dished out by the New York State Athletic Commission who have a different policy to the UFC regarding implants, and since the fight takes place in Buffalo, they have the final say in the matter.
It seems more than a little odd that the NYSAC didn’t check with Gonzales regarding her breast implants until after she’d already successfully weighed-in, just a day before she was due to fight.
Needless to say both ladies won’t be happy with the decision, and it’s a headache for the UFC to deal with too, and they’ll now have to push a fight from the preliminary card up to the main card to replace the bout.
Dana White will likely be particularly frustrated as he had actually stated on ‘The Herd’ show with Colin Cohwerd earlier this week that Gonzalez Vs Calvillo was the fight he was actually most looking forward to on the whole card, after being left impressed with Calvillo’s UFC debut performance just a month ago.
