Daniel Cormier and Dominick Cruz had a major difference of opinion on whether Jeremy Stephens landed an illegal knee during his knockout victory over Josh Emmett in the main event of UFC On FOX 28 last night.
Live on-air the two argued back and forth about the controversial moment when Stephens seemed to an illegal knee to the head while his opponent was grounded.
However, the knee strike appeared to miss on the way up, but did land with minimal impact on the way back down again.
Cruz, who is teammates with Stephens, argued that the fact that the referee Dan Miragliotta didn’t call it an illegal strike at the time makes it a moot point, but Cormier still strongly underlined the fact that in his mind it was an illegal blow.
