UFC Fight Night 139 in Denver, Colorado on November 10th will see the promotion celebrate their 25th anniversary and they have just booked what should be a memorable fight to mark the occasion, with Donald Cerrone set to fight Mike Perry in an exciting welterweight showdown.
Cerrone is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Leon Edwards in the main event of UFC Fight Night 132 just last month.
Prior to that ‘Cowboy’ had picked up a win over Yancy Medeiros by way of a first round TKO stoppage, but the reality is that’s now Cerrone’s only victory in his past five Octagon outings, having also picked up losses against Jorge Masvidal, Robbie Lawler and Darren Till.
As for Perry, he’s fresh off a split decision victory over Paul Felder just a couple of weeks ago.
That brought a halt to a two-fight losing skid that had seen ‘Platinum’ drop unanimous decisions to both Santiago Ponzinibbio and Max Griffin, but overall he’s gone 5-3 since joining the UFC in 2016.
UFC Fight Night 139 falls almost exactly on the 25th anniversary of UFC 1, which also took place in Denver, Colorado on November 12th, 1993 and featured a one-night open weight tournament that would be won by Royce Gracie.
