Jon Jones Mocks Double-Champ Daniel Cormier; Offers To Fight Him Again

Jon Jones will fight Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 232 later this month, but meanwhile a war of words is escalating with his old rival Daniel Cormier.

Cormier has repeatedly cast doubt on Jones denials that he took steroids prior to their last fight, and in a recent interview questioned the former champion’s declaration that the amount of the PED in his system had amounted to “a pinch of salt” in an “Olympic sized swimming pool.”

“Pinch of salt, no pinch of salt. You still had steroids in your system in a fist fight,” Cormier stated on Jim Rome’s podcast. “Not cool.”

Now Jones, who holds two previous victories over his rival (the second of which was amended to a no-contest after his positive drug test) has responded to Cormier and mocked him for his status as a ‘double champ.’

“Daddys baby still out there whining, What proud “double Champion” just vacates his belt because someone else returns to the sport?” Jones wrote on Twitter.

“Fight me one more time and prove you’re actually the champ champ. I’ll donate $100,000 to a charity in San Diego if you accept. Conor McGregor was an actual double Champ, the whole world knows your claim is a freaking joke. You’re more than welcome to be my first title defense.”

Despite Jones claims, Cormier has just been announced as ESPN’s ‘MMA Fighter Of The Year’ for becoming the second competitor to hold two UFC belts simultaneously while also noting that he’s the first to also successfully defend both belts, while he was also named No.3 in ESPN’s ‘Dominant 20’ for 2018 in all of sports.
