A welterweight fight between Darren Till and Jorge Masvidal is set to headline UFC On ESPN+ 5 in London, England on March 16th.
Till is coming off an unsuccessful attempt to take the 170lb title from Tyron Woodley back in September, losing out by a second round d’arce choke submission that night.
That was the first defeat of the UK star’s 18-fight career that had included a six-fight unbeaten stretch in the UFC, during which he earned victories over the likes of Donald Cerrone and Stephen Thompson.
At just 26-years-of-age, Till still has plenty of time to climb back up to the top of the division, and he doesn’t have far to go as he’s already ranked No.3 in the division, although he had previously indicated that he might be on the verge of a move up to middleweight.
For the time being he stays at welterweight though, where he’ll go up against Masvidal, who is in the midst of a two-fight losing slump that’s seen him lose out on the scorecards against both Demian Maia and Stephen Thompson.
Prior to that ‘Gamebred’ had been on a three-fight winning streak however, and overall that leaves the 34-year-old ranked No.9 in the division heading into this fight.
