After numerous run-ins with the law over the years, retired MMA star Jason ‘Mayhem’ Miller is finally going to spend time behind bars.
The 38-year-old plead guilty to one felony count of vandalism and a misdemeanor count of violating a protective stay-away order at an Orange County court on Thursday.
The charges date back to an incident in October in which Miller entered the home of a woman who had a protection order against him and proceeded to damage her property, including breaking doors, smashing a marble table and derailing a garage door.
The fact that ‘Mayhem’ was still on probation at the time for a domestic violence charge dating back to 2017 didn’t help his cause, and with his long track record of bad behaviour it was only a matter of time before he did end up serving time in jail.
‘Mayhem’ retired from MMA in 2012 after an underwhelming run in the UFC and his personal life quickly went off the rails, starting with a bizarre incident in which he was discovered naked in a churche he’d broken into and vandalized, while in 2014 he was involved in a stand-off with a SWAT team at his home that lasted several hours.
Miller briefly came out of retirement in 2016 to take a fight in Italy for Venator FC, but came in a staggering 21 pound overweight, forcing a change in opponent, who he then lost to by submission.
