‘The Korean Zombie’ Chan Sung Jung demolished Frankie Edgar in the main event of UFC Fight Night 165 today, dropping him several times in the opening round to earn a big TKO finish.
Round One:
Exchange of jabs to star the fight. leg kick for Edgar. Edgar tries to go for a takedown, but the Zombie stops that easily.
Zombie lands a punch and Edgar drops! Edgar back up but was clearly hurt by that. TKZ presses forward and rocks him again with more punches close to the cage.
Edgar in real trouble as TKZ gets on top now on the mat. Edgar on his knees with TKZ on top and flattening him out and then landing big punches. The ref could stop it here, but he gives the veteran time to recover.
Another salvo of punches from TKZ. Edgar bloodied and trying to dig deep to survive the onslaught. The Zombie opts to stand the fight back up and immediately has Edgar wobbled again. He’s felled again and the ref really needs to stop this and thankfully he does, with the TKO finish coming at 3.17mins.
Huge TKO victory for The Korean Zombie and a really bad night at the office for Edgar, who took the fight on short notice and will likely be rueing that decision now.
