Robert Whittaker vs. Darren Till Set For UFC Dublin Event

A major middleweight fight between Robert Whittaker and Darren Till has been announced for an upcoming UFC Fight Night event in Dublin, Ireland on August 15th.

The two fighters had initially been hoping to fight each other at UFC: London in March, but Till then suffered an injury and had to withdraw.

Now it’s been rescheduled and will be Whittaker’s first trip back to the Octagon since losing his title to Israel Adesanya by knockout last October.

That had been the first time ‘The Reaper’ had suffered defeat in nine fights, during a run that saw him beat the likes of Yoel Romero (twice), Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza, Derek Brunson and Uriah Hall.

Meanwhile, Till suffered tough back-to-back losses against Tyron Woodley and Jorge Masvidal at the tail-end of his welterweight campaign, but after moving up to middleweight in November of last year he got back to winning ways with a split decision victory over Kelvin Gastelum.

That’s left Till ranked No.5 in the 185lb division, three spots below Whittaker.

Whittaker vs. Till is expected to front a UFC: Dublin card that does not yet have any other fights attached to it at this stage and has not yet been officially allocated a Fight Night number.
