A welterweight fight between Neil Magny and Anthony Rocco Martin has been added to the UFC 250 fight card, which is expected to take place on June 6th at a venue still to be confirmed.
Martin had orginally been scheduled to fight David Zawada at a UFC event on April 25th, but that fight was subsequently scratched due to the coronavirus shutdown, and now he’s been given a higher profile opponent instead.
Martin is coming off a win against Ramazan Emeev back in November of last year, having lost out by majority decision to Demian Maia prior to that – his only defeat in his past six Octagon outings.
Magny is also coming off a win, having earned a unanimous decision victory over Li Jingliang at UFC 248 in March, but he was KO’d by Santiago Ponzinibbio in his previous fight, leaving him 4-2 from his last six fights.
Both Magny and Martin are currently sitting outside of the welterweight division’s top 15, so this will be another important fight to try and move closer to mixing it up with the current cream of the crop at 170lbs.
Magny vs. Martin joins a UFC 250 line-up that currently is fronted by a women’s featherweight title fight between Amanda Nunes and Felicia Spencer.
