A fight between Sean O’ Malley and Eddie Wineland is reportedly headed to UFC 250 on June 6th at a destination still to be confirmed.
Initially a product of the UFC’s Contender, Series, O’ Malley has made a big impression in his three appearances in the Octagon so far, which started out with decision wins over both Terrion Ware and Andre Soukhamthath.
O’ Malley then ran into troubles with USADA regarding positive tests for Ostarine, which kept him sidelined for a lengthy period, before eventually returning to action in style with a 22 second TKO finish of Jose Alberto Quinonez in early march of this year.
As for Wineland, the former WEC bantamweight champion is coming off a second round TKO stoppage of Grigory Popov at UFC 238.
However, that was Wineland’s only win in the past three years, with his infrequent trips to the octagon of late having also resulted in decision losses to both John Dodson and Alejandro Perez.
O’ Malley vs. Wineland joins a UFC 250 fight card thats slowly starting to fill up and currently will be headlined by a women’s bantamweight title fight between Amanda Nunes and Felicia Spencer, while Neil Magny vs. Anthony Rocco Martin and Raphael Assuncao vs. Cody Garbrandt are also on the line-up.
