A fight between featherweight veteran Jeremy Stephens and rising force Arnold Allen has been booked for UFC Fight Night 182 on November 7th in Las Vegas.
Stephens heads into the fight having not picked up a win in his last five Octagon outings.
That makes for tough reading, but in fairness to him, the 34-year-old has been fighting top contenders throughout that two year spell, including the likes of Jose Aldo, Zabit Magomesharpiov, Yair Rodriguez and most recently Calvin Kattar.
Troublingly, that last loss to Kattar came by way of KO, so ‘Lil Heathen’ really is in dire need of a reversal of fortunes as heads into this match-up.
However, he’s not been given an easy fight here by any stretch of the imagination as though Allen may not have the name value of some of his other recent opponents, he’s compiled an impressive seven-fight winning streak since joining the UFC back in 2015.
Along the way Allen has defeated notable names like Makwan Amirkhani, Gilbert Melendez and last time out earned a decision win against Nik Lentz.
As a result, Allen is currently ranked No.9 in the 145lb division, just one place below Stephens.
Stephens vs. Allen joins a UFC Fight Night 182 event that will also feature the likes of Thiago Santos vs. Glover Teixeira and Claudia Gadelha vs. Yan Xiaonan.
