The UFC kicks off their 2021 schedule this coming Saturday night, January 16th with a return to Fight Island for UFC On ABC 1 – the promotion’s first ever broadcast on ESPN owner Disney’s ABC network and we’ve got the full fight card below.
In the main event, former featherweight champion Max Holloway will compete in his first non-title bout in over four years against Calvin Kattar, who is coming off back-to-back wins in 2020.
The co-main event sees a clash of instantly recognisable UFC veterans as ‘The Natural Born Killer’ Carlos Condit goes up against ‘The Immortal’ Matt Brown.
Santiago Ponzinibbio is in the midst of a seven-fight winning streak, but as he gets ready to fight Li Jingliang this weekend it’s worth noting that the Argentinian hasn’t fought in over two years, having battled a staph infection and had another fight cancelled due to Covid-19.
Joaquin Buckley made a name for himself with a viral spinning back kick KO win in 2020, and now he looks to make it three wins in a row in his UFC run when he fights Alessio Di Chirico, who has lost in his last three trips to the Octagon.
Rounding off the main card will be Duško Todorović, who improved his unbeaten 10-0 record with a win in his UFC debut last time out, and now locks horns with Punahele Soriano, who similarly has a 7-0 record, including a KO win in his first Octagon appearance in December of last year.
