Tai Tuivasa Now Fights Harry Hunsucker On Saturday Night

Tai Tuivasa has had a late switch in opponent for this Saturday night’s UFC On ESPN 21 event.

Tuivasa’s original opponent Don’Tale Mayes was forced out of the fight earlier in the week after failing to be medically cleared to compete.

Now newcomer Harry Hunsucker has stepped in on just a few days notice to fight Tuivasa, after previously having failed in his bid to join the UFC via the Contender Series last year.

Hunsucker lost to Jared Vanderaa by a first round TKO on the Contender Series, but has since rebounded with a first minute KO on his return to the regional circuit.

That leaves Hunsucker with an overall 7-3 record, and coincidentally one of those losses actually came against Mayes, who submitted him via punches early in his career.

As for Tuivasa, not so long ago he was on a three-fight losing streak, but he managed to get himself back on track last time out with a KO win over Stefan Struve, leaving him with a 4-3 record overall in the Octagon.

Tuivasa vs. Hunsucker features on a UFC On ESPN 21 card that will be headlined by Darren Holland vs. Derek Brunson, with Gregor Gillespie vs. Brad Riddell serving as the co-main event.
