Nicolae Negumereanu made short work of Ike Villaneuva today at UFC Fight Night 196, finishing him with strikes after just 78 seconds.
Round One:
Inside leg kick for Negumereanu. Ike with a two-piece combo. Negumereanu works into the clinch and moves his opponent over to the cage.
Spinning elbow from Negumereanu at close range, but doesn’t land as he’d hoped and Ike gets away.
Ike throws heavy leather, but then gets caught by a big punch in response that stuns him for a split second, then he starts to move backwards while still looking throwing punches.
Caution being thrown to the wind here. Villanueva does land and uppercut and punches to the body, but then Negumereanu clips him with a punch behind the ear that puts him down.
Negumereanu is immediately on him landing hammerfists as Villaneuva curls up in a defensive shell on his knees. Some of these blows may have strayed to the back of the head, but the main damage had already been done by this point and the ref moves in to end the action, giving Negumereanu a quick TKO victory at 1.18mins of the first round.
