Major MMA Events In July 2015

Brace yourselves fellow MMA fans, things are about to get a bit crazy this month with International Fight Week in Las Vegas looming on the horizon which will see four UFC events taking place in the space of just eight days!

Thursday, July 9th: Invicta FC 13 – Cyborg Vs Van Duin

Where: Las Vegas, U.S

July’s action gets underway with all-female proomotion Invicta FC’s latest show on the UFC Fight Pass service which will be headlined by Cris ‘Cyborg’ who’s still plying her trade at 145lbs for now as she defends her title against Faith Van Duin who holds a 5-1 record.

Saturday, July 11th: UFC 189 – Aldo Vs McGregor

Where: Las Vegas, U.S

Billed as the biggest fight of the year by Dana White, the blockbuster featherweight title clash between Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor goes down on July 11th In Las Vegas…or at least we hope it does as it all hinges on whether Aldo gets the all-clear to fight despite an injured rib.

If Aldo doesn’t make it then McGregor will fight Chad Mendes for the interim belt instead, while there’s a major co-main event to look forward to as well with current welterweight champ Robbie Lawler set to defend his title against Rory MacDonald.

Sunday, July 13th: TUF 21 Finale

Where: Las Vegas, U.S

The TUF 21 Finale takes place just a day later in the same arena in Las Vegas with Jake Ellenberger Vs Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson serving as the main event.

Naturally the TUF 21 Finals will also feature on the card alongside a co-main event that pits Jorge Masvidal against Cesar ‘Mutante’ Ferreira at 170lbs.

Wednesday, July 15th: UFC Fight Night 71 – Mir Vs Duffee

Where: San Diego, U.S

The relentless action just a few days later in San Diego with UFC Fight Night 71 serving up a heavyweight main event that pairs up former champion Frank Mir and Todd Duffee.

Given how hectic their schedule is in July, it’s to the UFC’s credit that they’ve still built a strong card for this one that includes a co-main event featuring Al Iaquinta Vs Gilbert Melendez, plus Josh Thomson Vs Tony Ferguson.

Saturday, July 18th: UFC Fight Night 72 – Bisping Vs Leites

Where: Glasgow, Scotland

The UFC makes it’s debut in Scotland the following weekend which should result in a great atmosphere for an event that’ll be headlined by Michael Bisping who fights the in-form Thales Leites.

Former TUF winner Ross Pearson takes on co-main event duties opposite Evan Dunham, while Scotland’s own Joanne Calderwood locks horns with Bec Rawlings.

Saturday, July 18th: Titan FC 34 – Healy Vs Ricci

Where: Montreal, Canada

Amidst the sea of UFC events in July, Titan FC 34 stands out, though coincidentally it features a number of former UFC fighters, including the main event match-up which finds Pat Healy battling it out with Mike Ricci.

Other UFC alumn on the card include Kurt Holobaugh, Tim Elliott, Iliarde Santos along with Isaac Vallie-Flagg, and appriopriately it all airs on the UFC’s own ‘Fight Pass’ subscription service.

Saturday, July 25th: UFC On FOX 16 – Dillashaw Vs Barao II

Where: Chicago, U.S

Rounding off the month is yet another big UFC event, this time their 16th offering on ‘big’ FOX which delivers the long anticipated bantamweight title rematch between current champion TJ Dillashaw and the former long-time holder of the belt, Renan Barao.

Also look out for a woman’s bantamweight No.1 contender fight between Miesha Tate and Jessica Eye, plus Edson Barboza fights Paul Felder.
