Major MMA Events In November 2014

November’s major MMA action includes three events on the same day courtesy of the UFC, Bellator and WSOF.

Friday, November 7th: UFC Fight Night 55 – Rockhold Vs Bisping

Where: Sydney, Australia

The UFC head down under to Australia for a Friday night event this coming weekend with a heated middleweight rivalry between Luke Rockhold and Michael Bisping set to come to a head in the main event of the evening.

Meanwhile, in the co-main event Ross Pearson goes up against Al Iaquinta and TUF Smashes winner Robert Whittaker faces Clint Hester.

Friday, November 7th: ONE FC 22 – Battle Of Lions

Where: Kallang, Singapore

One FC’s ‘Battle Of Lions’ event will be fronted by the undefeated 8-0 middleweight Leandro Ataides against the 9-1 Igor Svirid.

And keep an eye out for Luis ‘Sapo’ Santos on the main card who’s got a mind-boggling 60-9 career record and will put a six fight winning streak on the line against Bakhtiyar Abbasov who lost to Ben Askren last time out.

Saturday, November 8th: UFC Fight Night 56 – Shogun Vs OSP

Where: Uberlandia, Brazil

The UFC’s Fight Night series heads to Brazil again this month with national hero Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua looking to get back in the win column and preserve his spot in the 205lb top 10 when he goes up against late replacement Ovince St. Preux.

Meanwhile, Ian ‘Uncle Creepy’ McCall and John Lineker will no doubt have flyweight title aspirations when they clash in the co-main event.

Saturday, November 15th: UFC 180 – Werdum Vs Hunt

Where: Mexico City, Mexico

The UFC’s first trip to Mexico hasn’t exactly gone according to plan due to injuries to the likes of Cain Velasquez, Joe Lauzon and Diego Sanchez, but an interim heavyweight title fight still headlines the show as Fabricio Werdum clashes with Mark Hunt.

Co-main event duties will be handled by Jake Ellenberger Vs Kelvin Gastelum, while Ricardo Lamas fights Dennis Bermudez elsewhere on the main pay-per-view card.

Saturday, November 15th: Bellator 131 – Ortiz Vs Bonnar

Where: California, United States

Airing on the same night as UFC 180 are two other events including a major Bellator event on Spike TV that will be headlined by former UFC stars Tito Ortiz and Stephan Bonnar who’ve been going the extra mile to try to generate publicity for the show.

Will Brooks will look to unify the lightweight title in a rematch with Michael Chandler in the co-main event, while Muhammed ‘King Mo’ Lawal faces late replacement Joe Vepedo.

Saturday, November 15th: WSOF 15 – Branch Vs Okami

Where: Florida, United States

World Series Of Fighting are also getting in on the action on November 15th with their 15th event on NBC Sports which features a middlewight title showdown between current champion David Branch and Yushin Okami.

WSOF are pulling out all the stops with a further two title fights on the card as Justin Gaethje puts his lightweight title on the line against Melvin Guillard in the co-feature and strawweight champ Jessica Aguilar squares up to Kalindra Faria.

Saturday, November 22nd: UFC Fight Night 57 – Edgar Vs Swanson

Where: Texas, United States

Rounding off another month of fighting we have UFC Fight Night 57 from Texas with a highly competitive looking featherweight tussle between top contenders Frankie Edgar and Cub Swanson fronting the show.

There’s also lightweight action on-board in the co-main event as Bobby Green and Edson Barboza collide, while Brad Pickett fights Chico Camus at 125lbs.
