Major MMA Events In October 2015

An explosion of Mixed Martial Arts events awaits us in November and December, but in the mean time October is a remarkably quiet month in comparison – though having said that the UFC, Bellator and WSOF are still all in action.

Saturday, October 3rd: UFC 192: Cormier Vs Gustafsson

Where: Houston, USA

The action begins this very evening with Daniel Cormier putting his light-heavyweight title on the line for the first time against Alexander Gustafsson.

Also on the main card Rashad Evans returns after a two year injury lay-off to face the in-form Ryan Bader and TUF winner Julianna Pena gets her toughest test to date against Jessica Eye.

Saturday, October 17th: WSOF 24: Fitch Vs Okami

Where: Connecticut, USA

A battle of former UFC veterans headlines WSOF 24 on October 17th as Jon Fitch welcomes Yushin Okami down to the welterweight division.

Meanwhile WSOF heavyweight champion Blagoy Ivanov takes on Derrick Mehmen in the co-main event, Magomed Bibulatov Vs Donavon Frelow will establish the promotion’s first ever flyweight champion and Vinny Magalhaes goes up against Matt Hamill.

Friday, October 23rd: Bellator 144: Galvao Vs Dantas 2

Where: Connecticut, USA

Bellator bantamweight champion Marcos Galvao main events their 144th show in a rematch with Eduardo Dantas who he previously lost to by KO back in 2013.

Meanwhile, in the co-main event Brandon Halsey will attempt to regain the middleweight title he lost when he failed to make weight earlier in the year when he competes for the vacant belt against Rafael Carvalho.

Saturday, October 24th: UFC Fight Night 76: Poirier Vs Duffy

Where: Dublin, Ireland

After a two week break the UFC returns to action in Ireland with Patrick Duffy hoping to become the Emerald Isle’s next fighting hero when he takes on his toughest opponent yet in Dustin Poirier’s who’s found a new lease of live at 155lbs.

Heavyweights Stipe Miocic and Ben Rothwell take the co-headline spot here, while Norman Parke welcomes back Reza Madadi to the Octagon after a two year absence spent behind bars due to an aggravated burglary conviction.
