Bellator returns for their 11th season on Spike TV this Friday night and what makes it particularly intriguing is that it’ll be going head-to-head with UFC Fight Night 50 on FOX Sports 1 which is taking place just a few miles up the road in Conneticut.
The event will be headlined by a featherweight title fight between current champion Pat Curran and season 9 tournament winner Patricio ‘Pitbull’ Freire.
Muhammed ‘King Mo’ Lawal features on the co-main event in his first fight since a controversial tournament final decision loss to Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson, taking on Dustin Jacoby who’s making his Bellator debut.
There’s also a clash of former UFC heavyweights as Cheick Kongo squares up against Lavar Johnson.
Opening up the four fight main card is pro-wrestler Bobby Lashley who pieced together three victories in 2013 and will be competing for the first time this year against Josh Burns who’s yet to earn a victory in four attempts inside the Bellator cage.
