UFC On FOX 8 takes place in Seattle this coming Saturday night and you can check out the full fight card below.
Headlining the show is a flyweight title fight between reigning champion Demetrious Johnson and John Moraga.
Johnson claimed the title after winning a mini-125lb tournament last year, defeating Joseph Benavidez in the final to secure the belt around the waist and has since successfully defended it against John Dobson at ‘UFC On FOX 6’ in January.
Moraga has less Octagon experience, but has produced back-to-back victories in the promotion so far, showing his versatility with both a knockout and a ‘Submission Of The Night’ win to extend his career record to 13-1 overall.
The co-main event finds two of the welterweight division’s top contenders Rory MacDonald and Jake Ellenberger locking horns as they attempt to take a step closer to a title shot.
MacDonald was in stellar form in a dominant decision win over BJ Penn back in December on FOX, and over the course of a four-fight winning streak has given ample reason to suggest that he could be a major force in the 170lb ranks for many years to come.
Ellenberger has also proven to be amongst the welterweight elite however during an 8-2 campaign inside the Octagon to date, culminating in a ‘Knockout Of The Night’ win over Nate Marquardt last time out and so a victory over MacDonald is just what he needs to place himself firmly in the title picture.
Also on the four fight main card We have a battle of former Strikeforce fighters as Robbie Lawler squares off against Bobby Voelker.
Lawler’s looking to continue to build momentum after an impressive TKO victory over Josh Koscheck in his return to the UFC at UFC 157, while Voelker hopes to rebound from a loss to Patrick Cote in his promotional debut.
Finally, the UFC On FOX 8 main card is rounded off by female fight action as Liz Carmouche looks to take the first step back towards a title shot by welcoming the 9-2 Jessica Andrade to the Octagon.
