Alistair Overeem Injured; Fight With Junior Dos Santos At UFC 160 Is Off

Bad news folks, Alistair Overeem has been forced to pull out of his fight with Junior Dos Santos at UFC 160 due to an injury.

Overeem is believed to be out for between 4-5 weeks with an undisclosed ailment which will keep out of the fight which was scheduled to be the co-main event at the event in Las Vegas on May 25th.

It’s not clear at this stage what the UFC plans to do.  Overeem is believed to be hoping to simply postpone the fight until July, but the promotion may wish to keep JDS on the card.

If the UFC are looking for a suitable replacement to fight Dos Santos at UFC 160 then perhaps Mark Hunt would serve as a suitable opponent for him.

Hunt is coming off a win over Stefan Struve last weekend which takes his current winning streak to four fights and from a striking perspective at least the hard-hitting former K-1 world Grand-Prix champion would make an interesting adversey for the fomer UFC heavyweight champ who’s widely considered to have the best boxing in the divison.
