Amanda Nunes Vs Valentina Shevchenko Rumored For UFC 213

While it’s not official yet, all signs now point to women’s bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes defending her title against Valentina Shevchenko at UFC 213 on July 8th.

Nunes and Shevchenko have fought before, with the Brazilian emerging victorious by unanimous decision at UFC 196 last year in a title eliminator.

The 28-year-old Nunes would then go on to submit the champion at the time, Miesha Tate in the first round at the historic UFC 200 event last summer, and then capped off a dream 2016 campaign by dismantling Ronda Rousey by TKO in just 48 seconds at UFC 207.

Shevchenko has also been doing big things in the division since losing to Nunes on the scorecards, starting with a unanimous decision win over former champion Holly Holm at UFC On FOX 20, then a submission victory against Julianna Pena.

If Nunes vs Shevchenko II does come to fruition then it will be the second title fight to be attached to the UFC 213 show, with a men’s bantamweight title bout between Cody Garbrandt and TJ Dillashaw already having been confirmed for the culmination of ‘International Fight Week’ in Las Vegas.

Other major fights already announced for the event include Robbie Lawler Vs Donald Cerrone, Fabricio Werdum Vs Alistair Overeem and Anthony Pettis Vs Jim Miller.
