Chad Mendes Vs Manny Gamburyan Scrapped From UFC 157 Due To Injury

A main card fight between Chad Mendes and Manny Gamburyan has been scrapped from February 23rd’s UFC 157 event due to an injury to ‘The Anvil’.

Gamburyan has suffered both a broken elbow and thumbs which forced him to pull out, while the UFC were unable to hunt down a suitable late replacement for Mendes at short notice so he’s also now off the card.

As a result a prelim heavyweight scrap between Brendan Schaub and Lavar Johnson will now step up to the main PPV card.

UFC 157 remains headlined by the promotion’s first ever female fight featuring Ronda Rousey Vs Liz Carmouche, while Dan Henderson takes on Lyoto Machida in the co-main event.
