Dustin Poirier Vs Joseph Duffy Headlines UFC Fight Night 77 In Dublin

The UFC will return to Dublin, Ireland on October 24th for UFC Fight Night 77 and this time it won’t be Conor McGregor who fronts the show, but instead the last man to defeat him, Joseph Duffy.

Duffy is best known for having submitted McGregor by an arm triangle in the Cage Warriors promotion back in 2010, but there’s more to the 27 year-old than that as he’s compiled a 14-1 career record to date and has impressed in his two outings in the Octagon so far, claiming two first-round finishes.

Duffy will be hoping to become Ireland’s next breakout star at UFC Fight Night 77 and he’ll gets a major step up in competition for the occasion as he’s set to face Dustin Poirier.

Of course Poirier has previously tangled with McGregor, losing out by first round TKO which prompted him to move up to the lightweight division where he’s immediately made a big impression, finishing both Carlos Diego Ferreira and Yancy Medeiros in the first round via strikes.

That’s enough to have seen Poirier catapult to the No.14 spot in the divisional rankings and he’ll now have his eyes firmly set on breaking into the top 10 as soon as possible.

Poirier Vs Duffy is the only bout so far scheduled for UFC Fight Night 77 and it’s not clear at this stage where the event will be broadcast.
