Jean Silva’s nasty elbow strikes cut open Drew Dober so badly tonight at UFC On ESPN 59 that it led to a TKO due to a doctor’s stoppage.

Round One:

Calf kick for Dober. Now a solid body kick for Dober. He has Silva backed up close to the cage here as he lands a leg kick.

Fast punch from Silva and another kick from Dober. Right hand for Silva.

Flying knee attempt from Dober. Punch to the body from him. Dober tries to clinch up and Silva shoves him away.

High kick attempt from Silva. Dober bleeding from a cut to his right eye. Both trade briefly in close. Kick from Dober.

Right hand and a body kick attempt from Dober but doesn’t land cleanly. Fast right hand from Silva.

Dober misses a high kick and eats a counter. Dober tries a jumping knee that doesn’t pay off.

Front kick to the chest from Silva. Silva slipping out of range of Dober’s strikes. Body kick for Silva. Left hand for Dober. Spinning kick from Dober misses as the round draws to a close.

Round Two:

Body punch for Dober. Inside leg kick from him. Glancing left hand and then into the clinch. He throws a threatening knee, but then Silva gets away.

Silva looks behind himself for some reason and then eats a punch as he turns back. Perhaps distracted by Dober’s corner for a moment there.

Jab for Silva. Left hand gets through for Dober and then follows up with a series of dirty boxing lefts.

Right hand for Silva. He misses an uppercut. Body kick from Dober. He punches to the body. Front kick to the body for Silva.

Inside leg kick for Dober. He rips to the body now. Straight right for Silva. Check hook for Silva as Dober came in.

Superman punch from Dober lands nicely. Chopping kick from Silva. Straight left for Dober. Jumping knee attempt from Silva.

Inside leg kick lands for Silva. He goes for another but eats a punch. Silva walks Dober into a hard elbow.

Silva tags Dober again as Dober presses into range. Dober goes in again and eats a perfectly timed spinning elbow that rocks him! Silva with punches and a boy kick as the round ends. Dober was in real trouble there.

Round Three:

Head kick from Silva. Body kick for Dober. left hand for Dober. Silva with a quick punch too. Dober gets in close and there’s a guillotine attempt but it doesn’t pay off.

Dober driving in for a takedown and gets caught by a knee. Dober’s cut above his right eye has turned into a grizzly gash that looks like it could peel right off his head. Silva’s pointing at it now, seemingly uncomfortable that the fight is continuing.

It doesn’t put him off for long as he goes back to striking and the ref is now having a close look at Dober’s cut and asks for a doctor to check on it.

The official doesn’t like what he says and advises that the fight is over – so Silva earns an impressive TKO victory at 1.28mins of the final round.
