Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson is set for a retirement fight against Charles Radtke on the UFC 334 event from Madison Square Garden in New York City on November 14th.
The 43-year-old Thompson has been coming in the UFC for over 14 years, but while there was a point where the former two-time welterweight title contender went eight-fights unbeaten in the Octagon, he currently has just one win in his last six bouts.
In his last three fights Thompson has suffered a submission loss to Shavkat Rakhmonov, KO defeat to Joaquin Buckley and most recently a split-decision loss to Gabriel Bonfim, and so he’s now decided that his next fight will be his last before finally hanging up his gloves for good.
That fight will come against the 36-year-old Radtke, who is coming off back-to-back victories over Daniel Frunza and Francisco Prado in the past 12 months that leave his UFC record at 5-2 so far.
Thompson vs. Radtke features on the preliminary portion of the UFC 334 card, which will be headlined by a heavyweight title fight between the new undisputed champion Ciryl Gane and Josh Hokit, while women’s bantamweight champion Kayla Harrison fights returning legend Amanda Nunes in the co-main event.
