Jorge Masvidal Charged With Battery After Colby Covington Fractures Tooth In Street Fight

Yet more details and video footage have now surfaced in relation to an alleged altercation on the street between Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington outside a restaurant in Miami Beach on Monday night.

Masvidal has been charged with felony battery as a result of the altercation in which he is alleged to have “ambushed” his rival Covington as he left the Papi Steak eatery at around 11pm.

Wearing a blue surgical mask and hoodie, Masvidal allegedly sucker-punched Covington twice, leaving Covington with a fractured tooth, and was overheard shouting “don’t talk about my kids” to his fellow UFC star.

A grainy video obtained by WPLG Local 10 News from Papi Steak claims to show part of the altercation, though it’s hard to establish from it exactly what transpired.

However, in his statement to police, Covington is believed to have identified Masvidal based on the upper-half of his face, his curly hair and his voice.

WPLG also spoke with a witness to the altercation, Adam Weiss, who claimed that, “One guy (Masvidal) clocked him (Covington) about three or four times in the face. What stood out right away was how he didn’t even go down.”
