Maycee Barber will return to action against Carli Judice at UFC 335 in Las Vegas on December 12th.
The 28-year-old Barber has had a tough time of it over the past few years as she had to take time out from the sport due to a serious illness a couple of years ago, then had a seizure moments in the locker-room moments before her comeback fight last year that led to the bout being cancelled.
Barber did then finally return with a decision victory over Karine Silva back in December of last year, but has since suffered a disturbing 1st round KO loss to Alexa Grasso in March that left her lying motionless on the canvas staring into space for an uncomfortably long period of time.
It’s worth remember that Barber was on a seven-fight winning streak prior to that though, and she’ll attempt to get back on track in the final numbered event of the year against the 27-year-old Judice, who is on a four-fight unbeaten run in the promotion.
Judice actually lost on the Contender Series back in 2023 via split-decision, but showed enough potential to still be awarded a UFC contract.
She then also lost her promotional debut by split-decision too, but has since hit her stride, with four wins, including three by TKO.
Barber vs. Judice joins a UFC 335 card that will be headlined by a symbolic ‘BMF’ title clash between Charles Oliveira and Diego Lopes, while Alex Pereira fights Sergei Pavlovich in the co-main event.
