Long-time UFC fighter Nate Diaz has signed a new multi-fight deal with the company.
The new deal comes ahead of this weekend’s UFC 150 lightweight title fight between Ben Henderson and Frankie Edgar with Diaz poised to face the winner later in the year.
The 27 year-old earned No.1 status in the division after a three-fight winning run at 155lbs after a stint at 170lbs, defeating Takanori Gomi, Donald Cerrone and Jim Miller along the way.
In total Diaz holds a 9-3 record in the UFC’s lightweight division and has never been finished in his career.
Details of the Stockton native’s new deal were not announced, but it’s likely to be an improvement on the $34,000 to show / $34,000 to win deal he previously had with the promotion.
