Ronda Rousey Stars In New Advert As Talk Of UFC Return Increases

Mixed martial arts superstar Ronda Rousey has emerged in a new advert for clothing brand Buffalo David Bitton as talk of a potential return to the UFC increases.

According to MMAfighting’s Ariel Helwani, there is currently “increased optimism regarding Ronda Rousey’s return to fighting,” some nine months after her shock head kick knockout loss to Holly Holm at UFC 193 in Australia.

Helwani claims that talk has now shifted towards not ‘if’ but ‘when’ she will return to action, with a rough timeline currently being marked out as somewhere between November of this year and early 2017.

When she does finally return to the Octagon, the 29 year-old Rousey will find the landscape at 135lbs has shifted considerably in her absence, with Holm no longer the champion, nor her other major rival, Miesha Tate, with Amanda Nunes having seized the belt from her at UFC 200 last month.

Given how quickly the belt has being changing hands of late, it’s possible somebody else may hold the title by the time ‘Rowdy’ returns to action, but whoever it is that holds the gold, that’s who the former champion is likely to face in her comeback fight.
