Ronda Rousey Hints Retirement Is Not Far Off During Ellen Interview

UFC superstar Ronda Rousey will step back into the cage for the first time in over a year at UFC 207 on December 30th as she look to win back the bantamweight title from Amanda Nunes, but regardless of the result it seems that ‘Rowdy’s’ not going to be fighting for much longer.

“I’m wrapping it up,” Rousey told Ellen in a new interview. “This is definitely one of my last fights. Everyone better watch because the show isn’t going to be around forever.”

That doesn’t mean that the 29 year-old is taking her comeback fight lightly though, and she seems to be in a good place mentally despite having suffered a shock knockout defeat in her last Octagon outing against Holly Holm at UFc 193.

“I’ve been training twice a day since the beginning of August,” Rousey said. “I finally feel like I’m in super-ninja good mode.”

It remains to be seen exactly how much longer Rousey will continue to compete, but she has dropped hints in the past that she wants to quit fighting in her early 30’s.

“I’m not going to be doing this in my 30s,” Rousey told Joe Rogan on his podcast last year prior to her loss. “I don’t want to be fighting in my 30s. By 30s, I mean like 31, 32. If you’re actually 30 years old that’s 30, not 30s.”
