UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland has issued a number of updates after being injured in an off-road vehicle crash yesterday.

“Guys I’m in a real bad place,” Strickland said in his initial video discussing the accident. “I let my buddy drive, he rolled us going like 60 (mph), we rolled like six times,” said Strickland.

“That’s from my head smacking the ground going 60. I didn’t have a helmet on, I’m an idiot. Oh f*ck, that was just from rolling and smacking the concrete, I’m in a real bad place right now.”

Then in a later update Strickland revealed that he was doing better, though his close friend Chris Cornell had to be taken to hospital after being left unconscious after the crash.

“Alright guys, quick update. I think I’m ok,” Strickland announced after his crash. “Chris Cornell went unconscious a little bit. So, he’s in the hospital, but I think he’s going to be alright. He just went to sleep for a little bit, but yeah, man.”

In typical fashion, Strickland then went on to state that he’d had a great day.

“Honestly, the most f***ing fun I’ve had in a very, very long time,” Strickland claimed. “My wallet’s a little sore; Rainbet did say they’d cover it, so that’s nice. But yeah, no dude, that was the most fun thing I’ve done in a very long time. I hope Chris is ok. I’ve never seen anybody go unconscious before; that was interesting.”

Don’t expect Strickland to change his ways after this accident as it’s not his first near-death experience.

Back in 2018 Strickland was knocked unconscious after being hit by a car in Los Angeles while riding his motorcycle, leading to him also requiring knee surgery.

Meanwhile, just a couple of months ago Strickland posted a video of him pressuring a friend to jump off a cliff into the freezing water below, only to then have to dive in himself to bring him back to safety after he got into difficulties.

Between his many side-quests, Strickland does still find time to fight though, including reclaiming the middleweight title with a split-decision victory over Khamzat Chimaev back in May.

He’s since been sidelined due to rehabbing a shoulder injury, but there has been rumors that he might return to defend his title in December.
