Stipe Miocic Wants Trilogy Fight With Francis Ngannou After Bulking Up

Stipe Miocic has let the dust settle on his tough KO loss to Francis Ngannou at UFC 260 and now he’s looking to settle the score with a trilogy fight, after first taking the time to gain some extra weight.

“I want to get back what’s mine,” Miocic said on The Pat McAfee Show. “It’s bulking season. I’m gonna eat as much as I can and get big and strong… I’m trying to get to like, 250. I made 230 last time, not because I tried, but because of training. I’m really going to stick to really trying to gain a little bit of weight, a little bit more mass. I felt good but I think 20 pounds will help. I will feel a lot stronger and he’s a big dude. (Laughs). There’s no question about it.”

The 38-year-old is in no rush though as his wife is pregnant and it looks like Ngannou might have other business to take care of first, with the current word being that the UFC are lining up a rematch with Derrick Lewis for the champion, and Jon Jones still looming large on the horizon.

However, the competitive urge is still there for Miocic and so it looks like it’s only a matter of time before he does get back into the Octagon, with Ngannou firmly in his sights.

“I hate losing more than anyone,” Miocic said. “I’m the most competitive person you’ll ever meet and I’m still but hurt about it, but it is what it is. It’s part of the game and I lost. I’ve got to swallow my pride and get back on the horse.”
