The Korean Zombie Suffered A Broken Orbital Bone During Loss To Jose Aldo

Not to be outdone by Jose Aldo who suffered a broken foot and was diagnosed with kidney stones following their UFC 163 fight last weekend, it’s now emerged that in addition to his dislocated shoulder, The Korean Zombie also suffered a broken orbital bone!

While his separated shoulder was easily fixed and didn’t require surgery, his orbital bone fracture most certainly will and unfortunately it’s an injury that tends to take a long time to heal.

In fact I’d hazard a guess that it’s almost certain to be 2014 before we see the featherweight fighter back in action again.

That’s hardly ideal for The Zombie, aka Chan Sung Jung who already spent much of the past year out of action due to a torn rotator cuff.

Jung had been hoping for a rematch with Aldo due to the unfortunate ending of their original bout which came about soon after his shoulder injury, but while this latest setback completely rules that out it’s unlikely to have been something that was in the UFC’s plans anyway.

Aldo will require time to heal from his injuries as well, but it’s believed that the likes of Chad Mendes, Ricardo Lomas and Cub Swanson are now the front-runners for a title shot.
