Tom Aspinall made a swift defense of his interim heavyweight title tonight after dropping Curtis Blaydes and finishing him with ground-and-pound just a minute into the fight.
Round One:
Reaching right hand from Blaydes to start. Blaydes lands another punch and Aspinall comes in a little wild with a punch and then another that misses before trying to clinch up.
They soon break out of the clinch and get back to striking. Blaydes showing a willingness to strike early, but that costs him dearly as he steps into a punch, only to get caught by a hard jab that knocks Blaydes to the mat.
Aspinall gives him no time to recover as he follows him down and starts blasting him with hard ground-and-pound. The ref has seen enough, and that’s it, Aspinall wins by KO just 60 seconds into the fight!
