Friday night’s fifth episode of The Ultimate Fighter 16 drew as few as 624,000 viewers on FX according to industry figures.
That makes it the least watched episode of TUF in the history of the long-running show, down 151,000 viewers from the previous low mark of 775,000.
This will be a particularly big blow for both the UFC and FX execs as it comes just a week after they posted a more respectable 1.1 million viewers thanks to the show airing immediately after the live ‘UFC On FX 5’ show.
The fact that they weren’t able to convince at least some of those new viewers to stick around for the following week’s episode is very worrying indeed, and if the TUF ratings continue on it’s current downward trajectory then you have to wonder whether it’s still going to have a future on FX next season.
