UFC 167 Prelims: TV Ratings

Saturday night’s UFC 167 prelims were watched by an average of 998,000 viewers on FOX Sports 1.

That makes it the most watched PPV prelim show on FS1 to so far, and the sixth highest rated show of any kind on the channel since it’s launch.

That’ll come as somewhat of a relief after a string of disappointing audiences for recent UFC shows.

This was the UFC’s 20th anniversary show though and a precursor to one of the biggest events of the year so it’s not a huge surprise.

The UFC did well not to take the viewers for granted though and did deliver one of the better undercards we’ve seen for a pay-per-view event recently, fronted by Donald Cerrone Vs Evan Dunham.

It’s an encouraging sign that the event may have produced a solid number on pay-per-view, and hopefully UFC 168’s prelims next month should have a good chance to do well too and would help the UFC to end the year on a positive note on FOX Sports 1.

Having said that, there’s still a lot of work to be done though before they can get back to the kind of numbers they were enjoying on FX prior to the switch to FS1 in August.
