UFC 186 PPV Won’t Be Available For DISH Network Subscribers

mma and ufc news

DISH Network subscribers looking to buy this weekend’s UFC 186 pay-per-view event this weekend are going to be left disappointed as the company won’t be offering the show after running into contractual issues with the UFC.

Even more troubling, if the issues are not resolved then this would also mean that all future UFC PPV’s would also be unavailable on DISH which is used by 14 million households in the U.S.

Here’s a full statement on the issue as it stands from the UFC.

“Due to contractual issues, DISH Network will not be offering UFC 186: Johnson vs. Horiguchi on Pay-Per-View this Saturday. While all other providers in the U.S. have come to an agreement on renewal terms, DISH Network has elected not to renew its distribution agreement with UFC. We have enjoyed a strong and productive relationship with DISH over the years, and while we’re disappointed with their decision, we are confident that our fans will be able to enjoy this weekend’s card through several other viewing options that you can read more about by clicking here. We remain hopeful that an agreement can be reached with DISH in the near future, but remain committed to ensuring that all fans have continued access to UFC events through multiple distribution options.”

We’ve seen situations like this in the past when it comes to contract renewal time and generally it gets resolved in time, though perhaps not in time for this weekend’s event. No doubt the UFC will be hoping that angry customers let DISH know exactly how they feel about the situation as they look to persuade them that it’s in their best interests to put pen to paper on the contract.

In the mean time, fans who want alternative options to watch this weekend’s event should visit ufc.com/nodish.
