UFC 192 Bonus Awards

Following last night’s UFC 192 event in Houston, Texas the recipients of the evening’s $50,000 bonus awards were announced.

‘Fight Of The Night’ honors on this occasion were rightfully handed to the cracking main event contest between Daniel Cormier and Alexander Gustafsson, a closely fought encounter in which both men showed a great deal of heart, commitment, durability and will to win over the course of 25 minutes.  In the end the judges couldn’t all agree on who won the fight, leading to a split decision victory for Cormier, but nobody doubted what the best bout of the night had been.

Meanwhile, claiming a ‘Performance Of The Night’ award was Russia’s Albert Tumenov who stopped Alan Jouban via TKO in the very first round, first catching him with a partially blocked head kick, then unleashing a flurry of punches that ended with a flush left hook that sent the Brazilian to the mat face first.

The other ‘Performance Of The Night’ bonus ends up in Adriano Martins bank account after he took out Islam Mackhachev by TKO with a single, hard right hook counter only 1.46mins into their bout during an eventful selection of prelims that provided a lot of finishes, in direct contrast to the main card which ended up with no stoppages inside the distance.
