UFC Fight Night 227 Bonus Awards

Following last night’s UFC Fight Night 227 event in Las Vegas the recipients of the evening’s $50,000 bonus awards were announced.

There was no ‘Fight Of The Night’ on this occasion, with five ‘Performance Of The Night’ bonus being dished out instead to each of the evening’s fight finishers.

That included Raul Rosas Jr, who made quick work of Terrence Mitchell, landing a big left hand that floored him in the opening minute, before taking his back and raining down hard ground-and-pound for a 54 second TKO finish.

Daniel Zellhuber earned his performance bonus on the main card by first hurting Christos Giagos on the feet in the second round, which led to his opponent trying to go for a takedown, which he countered by sinking in an anaconda choke submission in order to tap him out.

Lupita Godinez also took home a performance award after she dominated Elise Reed en-route to a rear-naked choke finish in the second round.

Roman Kopylov secured his performance bonus after a big body shot sunk Josh Fremd late in the second round for a KO finish.

And Charlie Campbell poured cold water on Alex Reyes comeback after a six-year layoff by hurting him several times in the early striking exchanges before putting him down with a hard right to set up a first round TKO finish.
