UFC Have A Special Announcement Planned For November 17th

Heads up fight fans, the UFC have a special announcement planned for November 17th.

“‘The Time Is Now’,” an invite to the event reads. “Save the date for a can’t miss event in Las Vegas on Monday, November 17th.”

The UFC have offered no further explanation for the upcoming announcement, so expect lots of wild speculation to ensue over the course of the next few weeks!

If it is genuinely a major reveal then the most obvious one that springs to mind is the return of Georges St. Pierre who’s been out of the Octagon since late last year when he vacated the welterweight title after a win over Johny Hendricks claiming that he needed time away from the sport.

Just last week he was spotted in his native Canada speaking with UFC head honcho’s Dana White and Lorenzo Fertitta however, while he was also given the green-light to begin training again recently following ACL surgery.

If you really want to push the boat out then how about the return of Brock Lesnar? Just a few days ago Dana White indicated that he’d welcome back the former heavyweight champion and current WWE star back to the Octagon if he wanted to return, stating that, “It would be interesting to see a 100-percent healthy Brock Lesnar compete.”

If it is either of those two fighters then White is keeping his cards extremely close to his chest though as he said a few days ago that nothing was planned as far as GSP returning, and while he keeps in close contact with Lesnar he said the reclusive heavyweight had given him no indication that he was interested in fighting again.

Alternatively, November 17th is just two days after UFC 180, so it’ll be an official confirmation that heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez will fight the winner of that event’s interim title clash between Fabricio Werdum and Mark Hunt.

Perhaps it’s something more mundane that the UFC has planned though. There has been talk for some time now that the UFC were looking into doing a sponsorship deal to have an official UFC uniform that would be worn by all the fighters on the roster, but they haven’t had much to say on the subject over the last few months.

The only thing we can say for sure at this point is that whatever the announcement is, big or small, we’ll be covering it here on https://mmainsight.com.
