Following last night’s UFC On ESPN+ 32 event at the APEX facility in Las Vegas the recipients of the $50,000 bonus awards were announced.
On this occasion the UFC decided to dispense with a ‘Fight Of The Night’ bonus and instead handed out four ‘Performance Of The Night’ bonuses instead.
A winner on the main card, Darren Stewart showed that there’s more to his game than just heavy-handed striking when he secured his first ever submission victory, cinching up a slick guillotine choke from his back in the first round of his fight against Maki Pitolo.
The other three bonuses went to prelim fighters, including Kevin Holland, who needed just a single straight right early in the final round to remove Joaquin Buckley’s mouthpiece and put him flat on his back for the TKO finish.
Andrew Sanchez also secured a performance bonus after his right hand floored Wellington Turman, followed by a couple of blows on the mat to completed the KO stoppage.
The final bonus of the night went to Gavin Tucker, who battled hard to get his arm under Justin Jaynes chin in order to seal a rear-naked choke submission in the final round of their undercard fight.
Meanwhile, Beneil Dariush didn’t get a bonus despite his spinning backfist finish of Scott Holtzman on the main card due to having missed weight for the bout by 2lbs.
