UFC On FOX 7: TV Ratings (Overnights)

Last night’s UFC On FOX 7 event was watched by an average of 3.31 million viewers according to the overnight ratings released today.

Along with a 1.5 rating for adults 18-49 that was enough to ensure the show was the most watched program overall and amongst 18-49 year-old’s for the whole night, though in fairness there wasn’t a great deal of competition on a relatively quiet Saturday night.

Note: It should be stressed that these are just initial overnight numbers and could well go up in the coming days. We won’t know for certain what the final ratings are until later in the week.

By way of comparison, UFC On FOX 6 drew an average of 3.77 million viewers in the overnights and ended up with 4.2 million overall, while the last time lightweight champion Ben Henderson headlined opposite Nate Diaz for ‘UFC On FOX 5’ the initial audience was pegged at 3.44 million before jumping considerably to 4.4 million when the final ratings were announced.

Last night’s show was entertaining from start to finish, equalling the UFC’s current record of 8 KO’s on the one card, though the top two fights on the bill were amongst only a few that went to a decision with the co-main event between Frank Mir and Daniel Cormier proving to be the most underhelming of the night.

The two other fights on the main card certainly delivered though with strong finishes for both Matt Brown and Josh Thomson.
