UFC On FX 6: Medical Suspensions

The medical suspensions list resulting from Friday night’s UFC On FX 6 event has been released and shows a large number of fighters facing six months on the sidelines.

They include Rousimar Palhares who had revealed after his loss that he’d broken his right foot early in the fight, and Chad Mendes who’s also got a foot injury despite spending less than two minutes winning his fight.

In fact every fighter on the list is facing a six month suspension for their injuries, though it should be stressed that always they can return quicker if given approval to do so by a qualified doctor.

  • Chad Mendes: Suspended six months due to a left-foot injury, but can return earlier with physician’s clearance
  • Robert Whittaker: Suspended six months due to a right-hand injury, but can return earlier with physician’s clearance
  • Rousimar Palhares: Suspended six months due to a right-foot injury, but can return earlier with physician’s clearance
  • Joe Beltran: Suspended six months due to a right-hand injury, but can return earlier with physician’s clearance
  • Mike Pierce: Suspended six months due to facial injuries, but can return earlier with physician’s clearance. Regardless, suspended 30 days for precautionary reasons
  • Brendan Loughnane: Suspended six months due to a left-foot injury, but can return earlier with physician’s clearance
  • Mike Wilkinson: Suspended six months due to a jaw injury, but can return earlier with physician’s clearance
