Video: Diaz Brothers And Khabib Nurmagomedov Brawl At WSOF 22

Nick and Nate Diaz engaged in a brawl with Khabib Nurmagomedov and their respective entourages last night both inside and outside the WSOF 22 event in Las Vegas.

The mayhem initially started as the main event of the evening at WSOF 22 between Rousimar Pahlares and Jake Shields was about to begin. It’s not clear what started the confrontation, though Nate Diaz and Nurmagomedov had talked trash to each other on Twitter and it’s been suggested that a fight broke out between them which sparked off the whole incident, though it wasn’t caught on tape and there’s different stories on who was the instigator.

Just as that situation was starting to clam down video footage picks up the story as Nick Diaz throws a drink at Nurmagomedov and is shouting abuse at him as security holds him back. Then another altercation breaks out between what appears to be other members of both fighters entourages. Kicks and punches are thrown, while others manage to stop it from spiralling too far out of control.

Later footage taken outside of the arena at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino shows another brawl between the two camps that threatens to turn into an all-out riot. Both Diaz brothers and Nurmagomedov appear to be involved in the chaotic scenes, and at one point it appears as if a sign is thrown at Nate Diaz.

Police on-scene were eventually able to get the scene under control, while WSOF 22 were also involved in trying to calm down the situation as it unfolded.

This is not the first time that the Diaz brothers have been involved in a brawl – in fact they’ve done so several times in the past – most notably inside the cage at both Elite XC (against KJ Noons) and Strikeforce (against Jason ‘Mayhem’ Miller) events, plus a reported altercation in a nightclub with the Pettis brothers back in 2013. Oh and did we mention the time Nick Diaz fought Joe Riggs in a hospital after they’d just fought in the Octagon?
