In his latest feature for the ‘UFC Insider’ show, Joe Rogan talks about the so-called ‘Octagon Jitters’ which have often left fighters unable to perform to their true potential in their UFC debuts.
He cites various recent examples of this, such as former Bellator and Strikeforce stars Hector Lombard and Daniel Cormier’s lackluster start to their UFC campaigns.
There’s a couple of fighters he mentions as having suffered from it that I don’t really agree with though. For my money both Cung Le and Carlos Condit performed well in their debuts and I didn’t get the sense in their fights that they were overwhelmed by the occasion.
